**Job description**:
**The role and our team**

A career in project delivery, means you'll be making a real difference to the nation BEIS has some of the most fascinating and complex projects in government today. Projects ranging from economy-wide transformations to cutting edge scientific research and innovation. As well as projects generating cheaper, cleaner, homegrown energy.

We are the Centre of Excellence (CoE) Team. We are part of the 'Implementation and Delivery Directorate' (IDD). Who report into the Permanent Secretary. Putting our directorate at the very centre of project delivery in BEIS. Performing a vital role in securing the success of the Government’s ambitious agenda. IDD leads on four key aspects of the project delivery profession in BEIS.
- Monitoring
- the status of the BEIS project portfolio.
- Managing-taking action to increase the likelihood of project delivery success.
- Mentoring
- developing individual and organisational delivery capability.
- Moving Up
- transforming and improving how we deliver.

CoE focus on developing project delivery capability. This involves us provisioning learning and development, nurturing professional communities of practise. Providing all staff, with help and guidance on how to undertake project delivery. As well as adjusting and improving our departments approaches to delivery. As well as, ensuring that the department is learning lessons as we go.

This is an exciting time to join our team. BEIS's portfolio is growing, and the number of project delivery professionals is increasing. The opportunity to make a positive impact has never been so high. As part of our team, you'll be seizing that opportunity. You'll be building new relationships across our department, partner organisations and government. Working with others, focused on achieving outstanding delivery in government. You'll play an active part in fulling our responsibility to:

- Develop and improve BEIS’s exemplary project delivery profession. Growing their skills and experience to deliver ever more complex and challenging projects.
- Build a strong, connected, and inclusive project delivery community. Making knowledge, experience and support available to peers.
- Provide the tools, help and guidance staff need to manage project delivery. So best practise becomes common practise.
