**Regulatory Support and CPD Officer**

**Job type: FTC - 12 Months**

**Location: Birmingham - **We anticipate that this particular role can be performed with a hybrid working arrangement which balances working from home and the office. As this role is contractually based in our Birmingham office, it is expected that regular attendance in the office will be required in line with business, department and team needs.

**Job Purpose**:
RICS, the world's leading professional body for qualifications and standards in land, property, infrastructure and construction is looking for a Regulatory Support and CPD Officer to join their Registration and CPD team.

Reporting to the Regulatory Support and CPD Manager, you will support regulation operations by managing incoming reported concerns and other sources of information to identify and manage risk and escalate issues of non-compliance for investigation. The post holder will also contribute to operational delivery in the Regulation department by completing tasks in a timely manner and to a high standard.

RICS is currently taking forward a programme of strategic development in relation to the following areas:

- implementation of an independent and accurate, public facing register of firms and members; and,
- development of new CPD processes which will ensure members meet high standards of competence and maintain trust in the profession.

The role holder will be responsible for contributing to this programme of work and ensuring that they uphold the high standards of the new registration and CPD processes in their day-to-day work.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Inbox management with the ability to analyse incoming reports and decide on the appropriate course of action by demonstrating attention to detail and decision making
- Taking ownership for the reported concerns you are triaging until resolution or escalation
- Carrying out tasks within KPIs and SLA, demonstrating the ability to work quickly and accurately with attention to detail while maintaining quality
- Excellent communication and the ability to present issues in a clear and concise manner at all levels across a variety of mediums delivered in an audience appropriate tone and style
- Supporting CPD activity including managing CPD inboxes by responding to enquiries, proactively managing compliance and contributing to disciplinary processes
- Supporting Professional Audit work by co-ordinating the collection of material to be audited, liaising with firms, professionals and reviewers and organising workshops
- Contribute to the delivery of the Register, supporting implementation of a framework which assesses whether an individual or firm meets the competence, suitability and fitness requirements to be admitted to, and remain on, the public facing Register
- Subsequently ensure the ongoing accuracy of the Register through robust registration and de-registration processes

**Experience / Skills Required**

**Essential**:

- Experience of working in a busy case working role
- Highly organised and able to prioritise own workload of tasks to support the regulation of firms and individuals
- Self-motivated and resilient
- Experienced in managing own workload and prioritising based on risk
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience of operating autonomously and collaborating as part of cross functional team
- An ability to analyse information, make clear judgements based on relevant risk and business considerations, in order to identify key issues and appropriate solutions
- Strong understanding of customer service excellence to include call handling skills
- Experience of working in an environment where priorities may change, championing a positive attitude and striving for continuous improvement
- Experience of working autonomously and under direction, collaborating as part of a functional and/or cross-functional team
- Strong work management skills and the ability to consistently perform against targets and Key Performance Indicators
- Ability to work with tact, diplomacy, professionalism and discretion at all times
- Ability to learn and develop, take on new responsibilities and adopting a flexible, pragmatic approach to work.
