We are seeking an enthusiastic person to join our fantastic Imaging team as a Higher Level Imaging Assistant.

You must be a caring person with empathy for your patients and an understanding of their needs and concerns. You will work along side consultants, advanced practitioners, and other radiographers to support them in examinations and procedures. This is a clinical role which is key to the smooth running of the department. You will be an effective communicator and be flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of the department.

You will also be required to work at the Community Diagnostic Centre in Preston as well as on the hospital sites.

You will be expected to be flexible in your attitude to work as there is a requirement to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends.

You should hold an NVQ level 3 in Health care ( or equivalent) or be prepared to study for the INCS qualification within 18 months of appointment

Your role would include working closely with Radiographers, Sonographers and Radiologists to provide a smooth and efficient service, as well as to chaperone ultrasound scans and to assist in patient care.

**Duties to include, but not be limited to**:

- Provide good quality personalised care in accordance with agreed local and national standards
- Undertake duties relevant to the clinical area following achievement of competencies
- Assist to maintain patient safety, confirming to health, safety and security legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines
- Assist in maintaining standards of care to improve the patient experience and outcome of care
- Promote equality in care and practice by recognising, respecting and meeting the needs and choices of individuals
- Contribute to maintaining safe, clean and productive environments, compliant with standards for hygiene and cleanliness
- Actively try to resolve issues and complaints at local level and then report the outcome to line manager
- Maintain and develop own competence
- Process information according to local and national requirements
