Job summary

Qualified Assistant Practitioner

Community Neurological Rehabilitation Team, Central Lancashire.

Hours per week ( FTE)

We are delighted to open up applications for a qualified assistant practitioner to work in a developing team working with individuals who have had a stroke, acquired brain injury or other complex neurological conditions requiring rehabilitation from a mutli-disciplinary team, consisting of Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, psychology and rehabilitation assistants.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for highly motivated individuals with excellent interpersonal qualities. The successful candidate must be willing to work in a fast paced environment, have a positive outlook and ensure that delivering a quality service, which genuinely engages with service users and carers is a key priority.

Due to the nature of the role we can only accept applications from those age 18+.

Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.

Essential

GCSEs Maths and English at grade C (or equivalent CSE / O Level), functional skills or key skills level 2 in Maths and English (must have proof of qualification) Evidence of level 3 study ( UCAS tariff points 72-80, BTEC: Merit, Pass, Pass Access to Higher Educational Diploma:72-80 points ) Fundamentals of care certificate (learner can complete this within 6 months of the programme) Completion of the Assistant Practitioner Course

Knowledge

Essential

Knowledge of impact of life after a stroke on daily activity and function Knowledge of when to seek advice and refer to a registered care professional

Experience

Essential

Experience within medical/care setting working with service users to promote their recovery and wellbeing Experience of supporting therapeutic interventions with service users
