Trowbridge, United Kingdom HCRG Care Group Full time

Job Introduction

Are you a positive, enthusiastic, motivated, Speech and Language Therapist keen to join an NHS Health and Social Care partner, and work in beautiful Wiltshire?

Due to promotion, we have an exciting full time (37.5 hours per week) Band 5 post available based in the county town of Trowbridge, one of our main Hubs in Wiltshire. Trowbridge is close to the beautiful city of Bath, has good rail and coach connections to London and to the south west, as well as being near to key roads such as the M4, A36, A350.

Main Responsibilities

As the Speech and Language Therapist you will offer support to children and young people, their families and other service users. You will reduce the impact of speech and language difficulties, to allow children to participate in daily life and inspire them to reach their full potential.

Working within the dynamic Wiltshire community paediatric team, you will provide assessment and intervention for preschool and school aged children 0-19 years who experience speech, language, or communication difficulties. This is delivered within preschools, clinics, schools, and other community settings throughout Wiltshire, therefore owning and driving a car is essential. Agile working is encouraged including some home working, the use of virtual consultations, as well as face to face appointments where appropriate.

You will have a Degree Qualification in Speech and Language Therapy, a licence to practice with the Health and Care Professions Council, and be a registered member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.

We welcome newly qualified SLTs and offer a robust induction programme to develop professional competencies. We are also keen to hear from qualified SLTs who have completed their RCSLT competencies, as well as SLTs considering a return to practice after a break in working. We offer regular, ongoing, internal opportunities for CPD in all core areas of speech, language and communication needs. For suitably qualified experienced therapists there may be some flexibility within the Band 5 salary range.

You will also need to be confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.

Our current Band 5s have this to say:

- We have a fantastic large team of 30+ SLTs, with a huge range of experiences in different clinical settings.
- Ideal post to gain experience as your caseload includes a wide age range and clinical need rather than focusing on one speciality area. There are opportunities to try more specialist areas of work too.
- Our team is so supportive, you can ask any questions regardless of experience.
- SLTs are offered regular opportunities to attend internal training events led by highly experienced SLTs.
- Lots of opportunities to work closely with other HCRGCare Group staff and opportunities to shadow other clinical professionals.
- You will receive regular help from a supportive group of Band 5 peers and have a SLT 'Buddy' during your induction.
- There are opportunities to work closely with staff within educational settings and deliver training to adults supporting children.
