Job Title: Criminology Graduate Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Criminology Graduate to join our team as a Mental Health Support Assistant at Academics Ltd.

Salary: £80-£90 per day

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Criminology Graduate to gain valuable experience in working with vulnerable children who have been exposed to trauma and adverse childhood experiences.

As a Mental Health Support Assistant, you will work closely with Teachers and Specialist Staff to support students socially and emotionally. Your role will involve working one-to-one with students, preparing learning materials, checking on their welfare, and assisting in increasing their independent living skills.

By building strong relationships with the students, you will increase their engagement, attainment, and life chances, ultimately aiming to prevent them from entering the criminal justice system.

This role will provide you with essential experience needed to train as an Educational Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Behaviour Therapist, or Speech and Language Therapist in the near future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work one-to-one with students to support their social and emotional needs
  • Prepare learning materials to aid student progress
  • Assist in increasing student independent living skills
  • Work closely with Teachers and Specialist Staff to support student welfare

Requirements:

  • Criminology degree or relevant qualification
  • Experience working with vulnerable children (desirable)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with students
