**Health and Safety Advisor - Construction**

**North West - Warrington**

**£35,000 - £40,000 + Package**

**Job Purpose**

To ensure that a high standard of health, safety and environmental performance is maintained throughout the Company. To assist with the co-ordination of the quality assurance process and report to the Health & Safety Manager and Director.

**Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities**
- Advise and guide on all health, safety and environmental matters, keeping the business up to date with health and safety arrangements, policy, best practice and issues as they arise
- Assist with site inspections and audits to assess the safety standards are maintained and a consistent approach is adopted across the Company
- Ensure that statutory requirements are being upheld throughout the organisation e.g. COSHH,

RIDDOR, Display Screen Equipment, Risk Assessments etc.
- Maintain up to date, accurate and appropriate health, safety and environmental records and documentation
- Assist with the maintenance of accident statistics, analyse trends and propose and take remedial action where necessary
- Assist with the provision of health, safety and environmental documentation at pre-tender stage
- Maintain an up to date professional knowledge of legislative changes, reviewing all relevant policies, procedures and standard documentation. Communicating these to the wider business.
- Maintain close liaison with the HSE and other external bodies

**Key Skills and Knowledge**
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practice
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good IT skills
- Ability to prioritise own workload and work independently
- Technical knowledge of construction and other building processes, equipment and plant
- Commercially focussed
- Numeracy skills
- Good attention to detail
- Networking skills
- Methodical and organised

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
