**PM Shift - Monday - Friday - 1:15pm - 6:30pm (26.25 hours per week)**

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic individual with excellent customer care skills to work within our Reception Team. You will be responsible for working within a busy department, answering telephones and working together as a team to help patients, support the doctors and extended multidisciplinary team.

Excellent organisational skills, team working and problem solving skills are essential for working in this post, you should have excellent communication and telephone sills, together with the experience of working with the general public with a caring approach.

We are a large forward-thinking paperless Practice of 17,200 patients, based in the centre of Chorley.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who shares our commitment to delivering high quality patient care, and who has the interest and energy to join with us in providing excellent services to our patients.

**This is a permanent contract. Pay £10.50 per hour whilst training, rising to £10.60 per hour once probationary period has been completed.**

**Main Purpose of the Role**

To provide a high level of care navigation and reception service to Patients, Clinicians and other members of the Practice Team.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Conduct telephone and face to face contact with patients in a professional, friendly and helpful manner.
- Care-navigate/signpost patients to the most appropriate health care professional ensuring appointments are allocated where required in line with practice protocol and procedure.
- Greet and direct patients and visitors.
- Respond to general enquiries.
- Taking requests for prescriptions.
- Handing out prescriptions.
- Receive specimens from patients in line with relevant policy, procedure and health and safety / infection control requirements.
- Respond to requests for test results, in line with practice protocol.
- Take requests for home visits in line with practice protocol.
- Liaise with associated Health Care Professionals.
- Register new patients and temporary residents.
- Respond to needs of the clinical team during surgery.
- Collect payments from patients for non-NHS services.
- Communicating with patients by letter using Microsoft Word.
- Input and extract information from Practice computer system.
- Ensure outstanding queries are explained and handed over to next shift, as necessary.
- Observe health and safety guidelines at all times.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £10.50-£10.60 per hour
