Norwich, United Kingdom Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Are you an experienced Registered Mental Health Practitioner looking for a new challenge based in a Community Mental Health Team?

Within the North East CMHT we are looking for an experienced mental health practitioner. The role will initially be to work alongside our current clinician to assess all new routine and urgent referrals to our service.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate, a great listener and is happy to work both autonomously and as part of a wider team. Ideally, you’ll have experience in community mental health, although you can expect a thorough induction and training when you start.

It is the ideal time to join our collaborative team as we transform and develop the way we work; we have new clinical leadership roles imbedded within teams which increases the clinical support available, our management team is incredibly supportive and we’re passionate about providing training and development opportunities.

In this vital role, you will be responsible for assessing all the new referrals after they are triaged, which in some cases will involve making contact with the service users to make an initial assessment of their mental health presentation and risks.

You will work collaboratively with the MDT ensuring any decision making is robust and clinically supported. You’ll work together with other NSFT teams & external agencies and carers in the initial stages of the assessment process, to ensure the service user is referred on to the best team to aid their recovery journey.

We’re a friendly, hardworking team who enjoy supporting others; you can expect to work with the full multi-disciplinary team as well as students from a variety of disciplines. Although this is a full-time role, we can be flexible and can offer some hybrid working and/or flexible working patterns if needed.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be an excellent communicator, positive and proactive. You should be adaptable and innovative and have the desire to help improve and develop the service we provide - if this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you

Working for our organisation

Here at NSFT we pride ourselves on being a welcoming, talented, friendly and supportive team who like nothing better than sharing experiences and learning from each other. In addition to ongoing training and development opportunities, we are committed to providing an environment in which you can thrive.

Why work for us? We have challenges as a Trust, but we have ambitious aspirations, are pushing ahead with exciting transformation work and we need dedicated individuals to support us on our journey. We have strong, established nursing networks coupled with an exceptional leadership team who will ensure you are truly cared for and cared about.

Why Norfolk and Suffolk? The people here are warm and welcoming, you’ll never be far from the beautiful coastline or Broads National Park. We’re an hour and a half away from London and have an international airport in Norwich too. Our villages, towns and cities are packed full of history, independent cafes, shops and theatres. We have excellent shopping, eating out, top ranking schooling and affordable house prices too.
