**The Company**
Nigel Wright Supply Chain and Procurement Team are delighted to be workingwith a well-established, cutting edge manufacturer who is a global leader in their field and preparing for further significant growth to recruit a Purchasing Manager.
The client will support hybrid-working - 3 days on site/2 days home-working.
**The Opportunity**
Reporting into the SMT, the Purchasing Manager will be responsible for managing a small Purchasing and Supply Chain Team, will oversee the Purchasing and end to end Supply Chain activity for multiple sites and will manage both Direct and Indirect spend.
Key responsibilities will include
- Developing and implementing Purchasing/Supply Chain process, tools and best practice to futureproof the Supply Chain to prepare for growth
- Managing, mentoring and supporting a strong team including Purchasing, Material planning and Stores
- Developing and driving purchasing strategy
- Centralising NPI spend and introducing a new process
- Maintaining continuity of supply
- Contingency re-sourcing
- Supplier relationship management
- Interrogating and challenging cost inflation
- Supporting NPI projects
- Collaborating closely with multifunctional teams including Engineering Teams to support NPI, Finance and Senior Management
- Assisting in roll out/implementation of new automated systems
- Trouble-shooting supply issues

**About You**
The ideal Purchasing Manager will have/be:

- Worked in Purchasing within high volume manufacturing - must have an appreciation of electrical/electronic components
- Accustomed to both a hands-on and strategic remit, overseeing complex Supply Chains - proven Purchasing track record essential
- Comprehensive understanding of end-to-end Supply Chain with strengths in implementing Purchasing processes, MRP/ERP systems and best practice - essential
- Proven track record of delivering efficiencies and performing against KPIs
- Able to advise and support the Team and wider business in all areas of SC management and purchasing who can instil consistency of process and unite the team
- Experienced in cross-functional stakeholder engagement - essential
- Logical thinker who will make data-driven decisions
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and team management and mentoring skills
- Strong communicator - able to build relationships and communicate with a variety of stakeholders and levels of seniority
- Dynamic and forward thinking with a strong focus upon process
