An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Insurance Claim Handler to join our team.

Based at our Hertford office, you will help manage multiple insurance claims and renewal policies for a block management company. The role encompasses supporting a variety of critical business functions, including accounts, claims servicing and general administration.

This is an ideal role for someone who is organised and can effectively manage their time, who pays close attention to detail, and can communicate effectively with clients, insurers, and colleagues alike. You should be self-motivated, reliable, and able to work either independently or as part of a team to help the company achieve its objectives.

**Job Purpose**

To conduct Insurance activities and services to administer the portfolio of companies within the Management Company Services (MCS) portfolio to achieve the highest levels of service in accordance with MCS agreed business standards.
- Proven track record in an office administration role. Experience of insurance services desirable.
- Strong IT skills. Experience of claims management portal systems preferred but not expected (training on company systems will be given).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent people skills. Able to quickly build positive and effective relationships.
- Willing to ask questions and seek assistance when required.
- Well organised with excellent time management skills. Able to multitask effectively to meet varying deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
- Team player.
- Confident working independently under instruction.
- Able to develop an understanding of the processes within the organisation and support the wider team as required.

**Correspondence**
- To maintain communications response with all clients, leaseholders, contractors, and other customers of MCS.
- To respond to telephone calls and messages within a reasonable time.
- To maintain polite and professional communications within all correspondence whether verbal or written.
- To compose and produce any correspondence as agreed.

**Insurance**
- To ensure all developments have relevant insurance policies in place including but not limited to Buildings Insurance Cover, Directors & Officers Cover, Mechanical & Engineering Cover.
- Submitting insurance claims such as flat to flat leaks and roof leaks on behalf of the Client where placed on the group policy, including liaison with loss adjusters, follow up and remedial works, and liaising with property managers.
- To commission and manage any insurance re-valuation that may be due for the development.
- Updating internal trackers including but not limited to policy tracker, reinstatement tracker and insurance leak tracker.
- To ensure a works order is issued for all repairs and all relevant documentation/systems are updated.

**Legal**
- To read, understand and interpret legal documents such as leases.
- To draft and issue letters where there are breaches of lease.
- To keep up to date with all relevant legislation.

**Accounts**
- To ensure all invoices received from contractors are the correct values and content, in addition to authorise all invoice amounts in line with policy excesses set out in the insurance schedules.
- To draft supplementary charge documents.

**General Housekeeping**
- To ensure all relevant MCS databases are kept up to date, such as updating claims on the management portal.
- Collating and organising data.
- To attend and participate in regular internal MCS meetings as requested.
- To study for and participate in any relevant industry exams at the request and with the agreement of your line manager.
- To be familiar with and aware of basic MCS policies including but not limited to Employment, Health & Safety, Environmental and Fire Safety Policies.
- To receive, manage and fulfil any other duties that may be commensurate to the role.
- Additional duties as determined by Management.
