ROLE SUMMARY:
As the Backup & Archive Lead you will be responsible for managing the LSEG backup, recovery and archiving infrastructure, ensuring enterprise backup and archive services for LSEG are resilient and performant.
Working in conjunction with the Operations Manager, Architecture team and Backup team providing support and project capabilities you will ensure that there is adequate performance, resilience, throughput, and capacity within the estate to meet the needs of the business.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Building a qualified global team through innovative training techniques, developing a business client care philosophy that ensures customer satisfaction. Analysis of performance through various statistical and reporting methods and produce and review monthly capacity and performance reports. Strive for continuous service improvement and automation.
- Assess work requests from clients and infrastructure teams to provide time and cost estimates and scheduling options. Work with other team leaders to produce quotes and project estimates.
- You will be involved in the evaluation and procurement of new backup and archive systems and will work closely with colleagues in the architectural team to assess operational suitability of storage platforms. Developing procedures and documentation to ensure the successful transition of backup and archive platforms into operational support.
- Design and build backup, recovery and archive solutions. Plan and implement migrations (including large-scale datacentre migrations). Provide standard operational procedures and knowledge transfer training of global operational support teams.
- Work with and understand a range of recovery, archive and Cloud related technologies across multiple platforms hosted internally and externally. Comprehend and maintain professional knowledge across main and specialised providers alongside the architecture team. Be self-motivated in keeping technical knowledge up to date collaborating closely with partners and vendors to do so.
- Providing hands-on technical knowledge where required to ensure service is maintained to agreed service levels and projects are delivered out of hours support to the global support teams and for raised issues.
- Work closely with the service and organisational change teams to ensure that all changes, operational and project align with the minimum services standards and that service risks are minimized, and the service excellence process is a key area of focus.
