This is a great opportunity to work with a rapidly growing construction company as a Payroll manager at their head office in Reigate.

The current manager is on long term leave so it is an initial 6 month FTC with the likelihood of being extended.

**OVERALL PURPOSE OF ROLE**

Responsibility for the timely processing of the group payroll ensuring compliance with all tax and statutory requirements and deadlines.

Responsibility for processing of all the group pensions ensuring compliance with Pension Regulator and deadlines.

Responsibility for processing of all the group expenses.

This is a very manual payroll with lots of sub-contractors.

**PROCESS**

**Expected outcomes are**:

- A comprehensive Payroll Process.
- A comprehensive Pension
- A comprehensive Expenses

**Achievable through**:

- Entering starters/leavers and changes of Terms Conditions as appropriate.
- Processing overtime payments.
- Maintaining and processing sickness payments
- Reconciling payroll balances to the general ledger balances
- Processing payroll year end tasks including P60's and P35.
- Discussing unusual or complex matters with the Payroll/Expenses Manager
- Processing of Pension
- Adding and Updating members information
- Payroll/Pension & Expenses mailboxes
- Maintaining and processing expenses

**CUSTOMERS**

Effective business relationships with key internal and external clients.

**Achievable through**:

- Developing and maintaining collaborative and productive relationships with sector managers and employees, establishing professional credibility.
- Responding quickly and professionally to queries.
- Liaising professionally with external bodies, including the Group's auditors and tax representatives.

- To promote the Brand and the descriptors of 'personal, agile and assured'
- To ensure we are is an 'Employer of Choice'

**Achievable through**:

- Ensuring that you live the company values and understand how to use and develop the company brand.
- Promoting the company when liaising with external parties.

- Ensure that the payroll data is maintained and kept up to date.
- A high performing and developed finance team where standards are developed and subsequently maintained.

**Achievable through**:

- Providing a comprehensive payroll, pension, and expenses service to the business, in line with the company policies, values and any legislative requirements.

**PEOPLE**

Ensure the organisation has:

- A robust payroll function which supports the business.

**Achievable through**:

- Working to tight monthly and annual processing deadlines, ensuring that confidentiality and security are maintained

**FINANCIAL**

To ensure that the wider Finance team is advised of any potential costs relating from payroll matters.

**Achievable through**:
Regular reviews of processes and procedures with the Financial Transactions Manager to ensure on-going effectiveness and to minimise financial risk.
