**Location: Crewe Retail Support Centre**

**Hours: 20 (Monday - Friday 10:15 - 14:15 with flexibility to start earlier to cover holidays)**
**Reporting to: Catering Manager / Canteen Team Leader**

**OVERALL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB**

To provide an efficient and polite catering service and to supervise the general running of a busy kitchen, operating a simple menu ensuring the food is of high quality. Maintaining food and kitchen safety is an extremely important part of the role.

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**
- Assist the Team leader/cook to prepare, cook and serve meals and snacks for the customer. ( this could include preparing salad or vegetable ingredients, ensuring breakfast and salad bar items are topped up and available at required times)
- Handle cash and card payments accurately and in line with company policy
- When removing food from the oven ensuring a core temperature is taken and recorded to maintain food safety
- Promote the service of the Crew(e) Room, maintaining a tidy kitchen that represents a professional kitchen.
- Acknowledge, approach and sell to customers in a courteous and polite manner
- Ensure good customer service is offered to all canteen visitors, greeting each visitor promptly with a polite and professional manner and all team colleagues are offered the same standard of service
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean working station whilst adhering to health and safety, food hygiene standards and current Allergen laws
- Assist with the cleaning and organisation of kitchen and equipment
- Restock items as needed throughout the shift
- Manage kitchen cleanliness and maintain standards both inside and outside of the service area ensuring relevant legal paperwork is filled in
- Ensure you stay up to date with company training
