We have a fantastic opportunity for a Claims Handler, working with a large, modern, and dynamic organisation, the Claims Handler will be joining our client's well-established Claims team. **Job Description**:
To proactively manage and settle a portfolio of insurance claims across homebuyer protection, gadget, household, leisure and property lines as efficiently and economically as possible, whilst providing a market leading standard of service to customers and otherstakeholders. As a Claims Handler are naturally expected to act in the best interest of the company, the clients, and customers always and discharge your role with professionalism and positivity.
- To act as the first point of contact with policy holders wishing to make a claim under their designated insurance cover
- Create a claims file; accurately logging comprehensive details of the claim.
- Handle claims queries in relation to policy cover, claims status, policy exclusions and excesses. Escalate more complex queries to management.
- Where appropriate investigate claims to ensure payments are made only where coverage is established.
- Effectively handle all claims from registration to completion.
- Use a variety of communication approaches to build rapport and a positive relationship to help manage the customer predicament and deliver the right outcome.
- Proactively identify opportunities to develop internal systems and processes and, where appropriate, reduce costs whilst ensuring we deliver a quality, customer focused service to our policy holders
- Ensure compliance with Financial Conduct Authority and Data Protection Act protocols and rules.
- Manage customer complaints proactively, including difficult and complex cases, referring where necessary to management or Technical Specialist, and issuing Final Response Letters where appropriate.
- To ensure the accuracy of reserves, file status and diaries.
- Identify and report any concerns in relation to potential fraud or instances of identified fraud, and act as appropriate.
- To negotiate effectively with stakeholders and suppliers to ensure a fair settlement is achieved for the customer and the company.
- To communicate effectively with all stakeholders including but not limited to Insurers, Customers, Brokers, Underwriters, colleagues, and management.
- To identify potential recoveries and manage the end-to-end recovery process.
- To actively deal with and settle liability claims
- Ensure all administrative and housekeeping tasks relating to a claim are completed in a timely manner.
- Always ensure availability on the phone when instructed
- Excellent customer service experience
- Previous experience within a Claims Handler role would be an advantage
- Able to show empathy when dealing with difficult and challenging situations, maintaining a sensitive and caring approach
- Experience using Microsoft Office and Synergy
- Be able to negotiate effectively and identify solutions to manage customer predicament
- To have a positive attitude and a flexible approach to change and team working.
- Able to demonstrate a willingness to undertake self-development activities.
- Understanding of Insurance Products
- Excellent time management
- Have a real passion for working with people
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm or 9:30am - 6:00pm
(rolling weeks)
**Salary**: £18,525 - £24,000 Per Annum DOE
