**Accounts Payable Assistant**

The Accounts Payable Assistant will provide essential support to the accounting department by efficiently and accurately processing accounts payable transactions. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

**Main Responsibilities**:
Your duties and responsibilities will be as follows:

- Process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Code and enter invoices into the accounting system, ensuring proper allocation of expenses and general ledger coding.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure proper coding of expenses.
- Monitoring the accounts payable inbox, promptly flagging any queries from suppliers.
- Prepare payment batches, and bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records and files.
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and account reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and analysis as required.
- Provide assistance on ad hoc duties across the finance function, such as assisting with month-end close processes, preparing financial reports, and supporting other team members as needed.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of accounts payable operations.

**Requirements**:

- Familiarity with Xero and Dext is preferred.
- Role requires excellent numeracy and to be a proficient user of Microsoft Excel including, as a minimum familiarity with the Pivot Tables, V-LOOKUP and SUMIF functions.
