**Summary of Role**:
As part of the Purchasing team, your task will be to assist in ensuring manufacturing/operations have the materials required, according to customer needs and availability, using the purchase order system as well as chasing and updating supplier due dates.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ensure sufficient qualified batches of raw materials are in stock and ready for use in manufacturing.
- Control the issue of materials and components requiring external processes or treatments.
- Carry out administrative requirements for purchasing inventories and purchase requests.
- Ensure all necessary data is recorded accurately on the Company's internal systems.
- Create and communicate purchase orders for the UK Head Office.
- Goods receiving all material and parts into the business.
- Establish good working relationships with internal customers & external partners to optimise the material flow process and material availability.
- Obtaining quotes by forwarding requirements to suppliers and managing purchasing process including rejection documentation to suppliers.
- Ensuring materials, equipment, and supplies availability by tracking and expediting delivery.
- Resolving discrepancies and negotiating credits.
- Comply with all Company rules including Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements.

**Skills/Experience required**:

- Background in buying/purchasing/production schedule.
- Excellent I.T. skills - able to use Word, Outlook, Excel and internal systems.
- Excellent planning, organising and prioritizing skills
- Hardworking, attention to detail, thorough.
- Ability to get things done through others in different departments when required.
- A good understanding of manufacturing processes would be ideal.
- Tenacious, keep track of requirements and ensures schedules set are followed through.
- Ability to adapt plans according to customer or business requirements.
- Ability to act on own initiative and solve problems effectively.
- The ability to focus on the desired result of work, setting challenging goals, focusing effort on the goals, and meeting or exceeding them.
- Constantly strives to provide a high level of customer service to external as well as internal clients.
- The capacity to listen to others and ensure effective verbal and written communication.
- Promotes cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve goals and the capacity to work in interaction with others.
- Ensure compliance with purchasing processes.
