The role is to develop and co-ordinate the Community Development Plan, within the Children and Young People Strategy. Acting as the organisation’s face in the community, we expect the co-ordinator to help create an inclusive and engaging environment for all to engage.

The role is required to:

- Recruit, train and support volunteers to support the Community scheme to deliver on the Community Development Plan.
- To coordinate and develop the Community scheme.
- To strengthen community relationships, increase children and young people’s participation in community-based activities and promote environmental activity within the local community.

Success in this role will require a highly community focused approach together with an emphasis on collaboration and team work. The role involves collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a positive ambassador for Fox Hollies Community association, facilitating under-represented groups to find a safe space within our work.

Supporting a culture of ambitious targets and evaluation and promoting a positive team spirit are also key.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. To work with the Community Development Manager to ensure the successful implementation and maintenance of the Community Programme within the Children and Young People’s Strategy.

2. To develop initiatives that support the Community Development Plan and that foster positive relationships within the community.

3. To supervise, support and develop relevant staff and volunteers within the programme, ensuring effective recruitment, induction and development in line with the Association’s policies and competency framework.

4. To develop and maintain effective working relationships with key staff and external stakeholders.

5. To increase the range and volume of community events that demonstrate the value of the Association within the local community.

6. To develop and implement plans and initiatives for the programme that will lead to future improvements, including new and enhanced income streams.

7. To broaden the scope of our environmental activity within the local community.

8. To develop large scale community events that provide a profile with our local and external community partners.

9. To attend community meetings as appropriate in relation to the work of the Community programme.

10. To develop and maintain relationships with local schools in the community to broaden the scope and impact of the programme.

11. To implement and monitor relevant policies and procedures.

12. To work evenings and weekends as appropriate to ensure effective engagement with the local community at events.

13. To assist with preparing the budget for the Community programme and maintaining accurate records of activity and expenditure.

14. To actively look for wats to work smarter and to identify improvements, such as efficiencies or service enhancements through research and other evidence sources, and to recommend these to the Community Development Manager for consideration.

15. To develop and maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

16. To affiliate to relevant bodies and establish a network of contacts and related service providers at local, regional and national levels as necessary.

General Duties

1. To undertake appropriate induction and ongoing training personal development, as required for the role.

2. To adhere to all the Association policies with reference to HR, staffing, health and safety, data protection, environmental and any other specific policies that impact upon your role.

3. To act as a role model in portraying a positive image of the Association both internally and externally, acting as an ambassador and displaying high standards of personal integrity and professionalism.

4. To support the Community Development Manager and the wider work of the Association where necessary, in the event of sickness, holiday or other exceptional circumstances.

5. To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required, consistent with the nature and grade of the post.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: From £11,960.00 per year
