Clinical Systems Facilitator

The Clinical Systems Facilitator will be required to manage the databases, implement an efficient workflow and interface with other health information system databases as part of the patient's Electronic Health Record. The prevalent aspect of the post holder’s responsibilities is to maintain the efficient use of the system by various users and ensuring clinical user satisfaction
The post holder will provide routine technical, operational and administrative support to the Clinical Systems within Diagnostic Imaging. The post incorporates numerous roles including change management, planning, training, problem solving, quality assurance, customer relations and policy administration. As Clinical Systems Facilitator, the post holder is guided by principles and broad occupational policies as they have significant discretion to work within a set of defined parameters in order to administrate this specialist function including the deployment, training and development of the team. The post holder will work as an integral member of the informatics team as well as the Leadership team, liaising with the PACS Manager, Clinical Systems Manager and the Systems and Performance Lead. There will be a requirement to work outside of normal working hours to support the Trust’s imaging informatics systems during system failure/downtime. The post holder will deputise for other members of the team in their absence.

In this role as Clinical Systems Facilitator, the post holder will undertake tasks in all areas of the department in line with departmental IM&T protocols, which include:
- Work alongside the Clinical Systems Manager and Imaging Performance and Systems Lead to implement and facilitate the smooth running on the Diagnostic Imaging Clinical systems requiring judgements and analysis of a variety of complex and highly complex operational problems.
- Undertake relevant advanced course in Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Computer Radiology Information System (CRIS), involving system management, system setup, advanced system monitoring and statistical analysis from the raw data. The post holder has a responsibility to keep abreast of developments and changes in relation to the responsibilities outlined and maintain technical competence and awareness by internal and external training updates.
- Have specialist unique knowledge of the advanced setup of the PACS and CRIS Provide a specialist technical service utilising specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and equivalent experience to implement specialist services.
- Understand the clinical use of computerised and digital radiography systems, computerised tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound and radioisotope imaging to produce radiographic image data.
- Liaise with other clinical staff groups, some external to the NHS (national and international), i.e. hardware and software providers for problem solving advanced issues and system resets.
- Continually develop, monitor and review systems of work for the Clinical Systems, trust wide to ensure best practise.
