Your role will play an instrumental part in driving efficiencies, ensuring the effective use of private, community, and third sector provision, and fostering collaborations that address unmet needs. **What you can expect to be doing**:
The Quality, Contracts and Purchasing Service pulls together the key elements of contract management and oversight of care and support services in Dorset and makes sure that these are matched to people who have assessed Care Act needs.

You'll source high-quality care home placements and manage vital care packages for diverse client groups. In this role, you’ll champion the sourcing of care home places and essential care packages. Allocated to client groups such as Learning Disability, Mental Health, Older People, and more, your expertise in brokering care will shine. Your daily tasks will involve negotiations with care providers, offering guidance to colleagues, making critical allocation decisions, and overseeing contracts until solutions are found.

The primary role of the team is to source high quality and best value care that meets the identified needs of individuals and families that require care and support. The team is key in ensuring that pre-commissioned resources are utilised fully, and that care and support requirements are found as efficiently and as effectively as possible.

**About you**:
We are looking for people who have good organisational and interpersonal skills, think outside of the box and are solution focussed. You will need to produce and contribute to data collection and intelligence gathering / sharing that will support the contract and quality monitoring activity of the services. You will have the confidence needed to manage relationships with our commissioned providers and have oversight of the day-to-day contractual compliance in particular in relation to pre-commissioned resources.

This post requires significant travel. You must have a vehicle (or transport we deem suitable) available for use as needed.
