**Salary £34,723 - £40,478**

Dorchester, County Hall, combined with home-working

Are you ready to make a meaningful impact on the lives of residents in the breathtaking landscapes of Dorset? Join us in our pursuit of ‘A Better Life’ for our community, where we've crafted our adult social care commissioning strategies with a vision that places individual support at the heart of our mission.

**What’s in it for you**:
Dorset is a stunning corner of the UK, regularly featuring amongst the most beautiful of counties. We have a population, on average, much older than the rest of the country: a fantastic body of energy for vibrant community activities across our towns, villages, coastline and countryside. But of course, that’s a population that also needs support with ageing. Together with a significant population of adults of working age with support needs, Dorset is a place where getting the right support, at the right time, and in the right place, is absolutely fundamental to helping all of our people to live their idea of “A Better Life” - and that’s why we built our adult social care strategies on that vision.

In Dorset, adult social care commissioning is big business: more than £100m is spent in the local care market, providing support to all adults who need it, including one of the largest proportions of older people in the country. Working with the local care market, the NHS, our operational colleagues: all of these relationships are critical to our success in commissioning the right support to meet these needs.

Our Adult Commissioning and Improvement team has undergone a dynamic restructure, in which additional investment was made into the team, and we reorganised to better align ourselves to deliver our plans and strategies. Whether in strategy development, project management, engagement, strategic commissioning, contract management or brokerage, Dorset is the kind of place where you will be able to see your contribution to commissioning really changing lives for local people.

Following our investment we have a number of vacancies, and we are seeking dedicated colleagues with a passion for working with local providers to develop high quality care services for the residents of Dorset.

**What you can expect to be doing**:
You’ll be working with the local care market, the NHS, and our operational colleagues, making a difference by managing relationships that are critical to our success in commissioning the right support. Working collaboratively, you’ll be a part of developing high quality care services for our residents, turning commissioning initiatives into positive outcomes for individuals. You’ll utilise your partnership working and negotiation skill to ensure that finding is used to maximum effect, making a real impact in the communities we serve.

**About you**:
In all our commissioner roles, we are seeking experienced colleagues who are dynamic and hard working with a passion for making a difference. You must have demonstrable knowledge of the specific client group or specific area and be able to think creatively and innovate local services.

You will be commercially minded and be able to demonstrate good business acumen and utilise your skills to shape the local care market. A key skill is an ability to develop positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across the health and social care landscape.
