Patient administration underpins the patient journey and supports clinical teams in delivering high quality patient care and can make a real difference to the patient experience. Effective and efficient patient administration supports management through ensuring a high standard of data quality and by making the best use of capacity and resources.

The Patient Access Team within Maternity is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join us in delivering excellent compassionate care to the women using our service.

This role requires on site presence, 7.5hrs a day, Monday to Friday.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and well-presented individual to join the patient Access Team with in Maternity. If you would like to make a positive contribution to a patient’s care experience and are a good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, enthusiastic and adaptable, then we would like to hear from you.

The purpose of the role is to provide a professional, efficient and friendly service ensuring that all aspects of administration with in Maternity are performed to the highest standard as part of the wider Patient Access Team with a focus on supporting the Diabetic Midwifery team.

A key element of the role is the ability to use judgement and initiative to deal with the day to day patient queries/issues raised, liaising and communicating with the wider Maternity admin & clinical teams as needed.

You will need to have a flexible approach to work, be highly organised, enjoy working individually as well as part of a larger team and have good keyboarding skills. Knowledge of EPR is desirable but not essential as training will be given. With this role you will become part of the wider administrative team within Maternity with numerous opportunities for progression.
- Booking, rescheduling & cancelling appointments using the EPR system
- Maintaining databases
- Answering phone calls, taking messages accurately & dealing with them in a timely fashion
- Providing a compassionate service to our patients
- Maintaining patient records
- Using ScanIt to move records, letters etc in to a digital format
- Liaising with clinical staff
- Reporting IT issues
- Reporting issues with equipment & estates
- Reception duties
