**About us**

Petroineos Refining and Trading is one of the largest independent refiners trading in Europe. We are seeking an experienced Scheduler or Planner to join our Commercial Planning and Optimisation Team at our Grangemouth site on a permanent basis.

**Purpose of the role**

The purpose of this role is to develop and deliver a blend and despatch schedule for feedstock and products which meet the Planning and Optimisation team targets for unit utilisation, product volumes, specifications, manufacturing costs and product availability.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Develop and deliver a daily, feedstock delivery schedule to the refinery shift operating teams to meet Planning and Optimisation team utilisation targets
- Develop and deliver a daily, product blend schedule to the refinery Off-sites shift teams meeting customer, and legal, requirements (product specification) and achieving team targets for manufacturing cost (product giveaway)
- Prepare and deliver a daily, product despatch schedule to the Off-sites shift teams meeting customer requirements and team targets for product availability
- Approve daily jetty optimisation plans to establish most effective utilisation of Grangemouth and Finnart jetty areas in order to maximise utilisation of these assets and meet site demurrage targets
- Analyse and report product quality giveaway results making recommendations, where applicable, to improve planning process and site margin
- Specify key blend controlling properties and advise operating teams and Laboratory of actions to be taken in the event of quality deviation from plan to minimise manufacturing cost.
- Full participation in the Planning and Optimisation on-call rota

**Special Features of the role**:

- The job holder is the owner of the delivered plan for the relevant area which means that they have overall responsibility for delivery of feeds to process units, blends issued to take care of process unit intermediates and products available for despatch.

This extends to ensuring that Laboratory, Tank farm, Finnart and Jetty teams are clear on deliverables to avoid rapid and significant financial and reputational impact to the refinery business
- In creating the optimal schedule the post holder must consider a number of variables. Some of these are listed below:

- Component Quality and Inventory
- Component and Product Value
- Product and Component Availability
- Product Specification
- Impact of feed changes
- Logistical Contraints (Jetty,Tank & Pipeline)
- Tidal Considerations
- Vessel etas

**Skills and Experience**:
**Required**
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances rapidly

**Desirable**
- Graduate qualified
- Proven experience of Refinery logistics and tankage operations, laboratory, hydrocarbon accounts or production planning would be advantageous
