Defence Support Chain Operations and Movements (DSCOM) is a 1* Military Headquarters within the Joint Support 2* area of the Defence Support organisation. DSCOM is a joint organisation comprising a mix of military, civilian and contractor staff based mainly at MOD Abbey Wood, Bristol. DSCOM is a great place to work, where staff feel valued and respected.

We are an intelligent and resilient organisation providing an effective, efficient and integrated multi-model operational Support Chain, which allows us to support the Ministry of Defence (MOD), Permanent Joint Headquarters (PJHQ) and Front Line Commands (FLC) in the worldwide deployment and recovery of material and personnel for Defence Activity.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:
Defence Support Chain Operations & Movements (DSCOM) is a diverse organisation with a mixture of MOD Civil Servant, Regular Military and FTRS personnel. DSCOM provides effective, efficient, and sustainable global supply chain solutions that create operational and strategic advantage.

The post holder will be responsible for coordinating both Individual and Collective training across the DSCOM Workforce. Supervising the EO Training Support, the post holder will monitor DSCOM’s Individual Training statistics, ensuring a suitable system is in place to maintain the required ‘in date’ statistics. They will look to innovative ways to ensure people remain in date for the annual training.

For Collective Training, the post holder will liaise extensively with organisations outside of DSCOM to identify opportunities for DSCOM to practice the new Strategic Base Outload role. This will form a vital element in DSCOM reaching Full Operating Capability (FOC) in this role in 2024, and the post holder will be the J7 Training & Assurance lead for AGILE STANCE Campaign Plan Working Group.

The post holder must also be able to conduct Training Needs Analysis on each element of DSCOM, using the output of this to formulate individual and branch training plans to ensure the workforce is correctly skilled to deliver their core role(s).

The post holder must be a confident communicator and leader, and able to represent the DSCOM viewpoint at external meetings, where the predominant attendees maybe military personnel.

**Person specification**:
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

- Acting on the results of any Training Needs Analysis (TNA), assist Line Managers and Pillar Training leads to formulate suitable training plans for each individual with the organisation.
- Act as the DSCOM desk level lead for all Individual training, drawing up a strategy to ensure that all DSCOM personnel remain in date.
- Act as the DSCOM lead and SME for collective training, actively seeking out opportunities to test DSCOM in the Strategic Base Outload (SBO) role.
- Research and integrate changing policies, trends & guidance to allow for continuous improvement and development within DSCOM, on both an individual and organisational level.
