Within the Paediatric team be accountable for the day to day administration and coordination of clerical procedures concerning out patients clinics and accurate timely patient data quality through proficient use of the computerised patient administration system. To work closely as part of a forward thinking team, providing a high standard of service and liaison with clinicians, patients and staff at all levels.

We are looking for a reliable and highly organised individual who has excellent communication skills to work within the Children’s Services at Leicester Royal Infirmary. You must also be able to demonstrate an adaptable, enthusiastic approach to your work, and the ability to manage your workload with various competing demands for your time and attention within a busy clinical area.

The post is suitable for an individual wishing to work as part of the Multidisciplinary Team, communicating with patients, families and clinical staff in the Outpatient area. You must be able to be courteous, respectful and helpful at all times.

The successful post holder will provide and maintain an efficient and effective administration service to the Outpatient team. Therefore, previous administration experience and computer skills would be desirable.

A working knowledge of HISS would be beneficial, however comprehensive training will be provided for all successful applicants.

**About the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust**: (leicestershospitals.nhs.uk)
- To make up Paediatric notes for patients who are new to the University Hospitals of Leicester.
- To be responsible for the preparation of case notes for Paediatric Outpatient Clinics in line with consultant guidelines and departmental procedures.
- To ensure that all relevant case notes, x-rays, test results and other information, including data from other hospitals, is available for each patient’s visit.
- To be responsible for transferring clinic case notes on HISS at the end of the clinic to the appropriate destination.
- To ensure all case notes and patient records are maintained in good condition.
- Be responsible for implementing national, regional and local initiatives relating to performance targets and comply with The Patient Access & Data Management Policy.
- To receive Paediatric referral letters and take responsibility for liaising with Consultants as to the urgency of appointment required.
- To sit clinic reception over early (0800 - 1300) & late shifts (1330 - 1800)
