**Job Summary**:
We have an exciting new opportunity to join our thriving and dynamic team as a counselling coordinator. We are recruiting a highly organised, passionate and pro-active counselling coordinator to work on-site at our building on London Road, Leicester.

The New Futures counselling service provides one-to-one trauma-informed counselling to women and young people who have experience sexual abuse at any point in their lives. We work to feminist principles: this underpins both what our service is and how it is run. Our work is guided by a trauma-informed approach which understands how traumatic experiences can impact on survivors.

The counselling coordinator is the main point of contact for clients receiving counselling support and ensures that our therapeutic services make a difference to survivors who are adults and young people aged 13+.

An integral part of the counselling coordinator role is to support the counselling team and clinical lead to ensure the counselling service operates efficiently.

**Duties**:
**Allocations**:

- Allocate clients to New Futures staff and trainee counsellors based on the clients’ presenting issues and counsellor’s competencies, with the support of the clinical lead as required.
- Ensure empty counselling slots are filled in a timely manner.
- Coordinate and manage the counselling waiting lists for the counselling service interventions provided by the New Futures counselling team.
- Accurately keep track of specific projects and monitor client attendance, missed sessions or illness.

**Working with the counselling team**:

- Provide check-in/debriefs to the counselling team and ensure that counsellors feel they are a valued part of The New Futures Project.
- Provide regular ongoing support to a team of staff and trainee counsellors to ensure all counselling clients receive a high quality, trauma informed, therapeutic service.
- Ensure the work of counsellors meets agreed standards and complies with The New Futures Project organisational membership of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

**Safeguarding**:

- Support with safeguarding issues as they arise as well as manage and assess risk within the New Futures policy and procedures.

**Supervision**:

- Participate in monthly supervision with your line manager.

**Monitoring and evaluation**:

- Ensure all counselling service activity is recorded and input appropriately, and accurately into the OASIS case management database for the effective monitoring and evaluation of The New Futures Project counselling service.
- Support counsellors to maintain confidential, up-to-date, and accurate records of all therapy and review records and feedback to continually improve service provision.
- Work within the New Futures Project team to ensure best practice systems are in place and drive the development of the counselling service.

**Adherence to policies**:

- Ensure that all work is carried out within the New Futures policies and procedures, BACP Ethical Framework, GDPR and local authority requirements.
- Actively participate in the risk assessment, management of risk process, and all aspects of Health and Safety.

**Partnership working**:

- Liaise with referrers, other professionals, and agencies as appropriate
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with key partners.
- Promote a positive view of The New Futures Project when interacting with external partners.

**Recruitment**:

- Support the clinical lead with the recruitment of counsellors and trainee counsellors.

**Organisational development**:

- Work as part of the wider team, promoting the ethos and values of The New Futures Project.
- Participate and contribute in annual development and review processes, aiming to help improve systems and procedures.
- Attend and participate in regular team meetings.

As well as undertaking any other duties commensurate with the role.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £26,000.00 per year
