About the role
**Our new Fareham Distribution Centre is your opportunity to be a part of something special and help shape the future of Booker**

**We are opening a new site in Fareham Our new Distribution Centre will be a 117,000 sq ft modern DC that will be moving up to 270,000 cases per week and will be servicing our group customers across both retail and catering such as Londis, Budgens, Premier and Shell**

Working with the General Manager, People Partner & the site management team, this role is key to improving the overall performance of the Distribution Centre by ensuring that people policies & procedures are followed and that the site operates safely and legally, as well as contributing to the success of the People Team across the Distribution network.

You will be responsible for
Working in partnership with the Distribution Leadership Team, influencing decisions on all aspects of employee management, ensuring the risk to the company is minimised and all policies and procedures are observed.

Reviewing and develop People policies and procedures to support best practice and ensure the company complies with current and future legislation.

Forging collaborative relationships with the Trade Unions to ensure a positive and constructive working relationship.

Supporting the Distribution Centre in any discussions/negations with Trade unions. Administer any subsequent changes in the agreed timelines.

Assisting the operational KPIs through effective people management by identifying opportunities to improve service to the customer and the development of solutions to drive continued business performance.
The management of talent cycle, including identification of training needs, development of training solutions, coaching on the go. Completion of PDRs and Individual Development Plans in place for all management colleagues. Identification of high performers and potential backfill to business critical roles.

The support company/site inductions for all new colleagues.

Supporting with Management interviews and on-boarding process.

Working alongside site management teams to ensure consistent approach to performance management.

Supporting a culture of celebration - identifying successes/achievements through a robust reward/recognition process that colleagues want.

Providing sites with accurate weekly/period People KPI reporting.

Accurate people management advice that does not add additional cost in to the business through effective stakeholder management ensuring that all legal obligations are met.

You will need
Full UK Manual car driving licence (preferred not essential)

Solid experience in Human Resources or related field including experience influencing senior management and critical stakeholders ideally CIPD qualified or working towards a professional qualification in People.

Experience of Recruitment, Absence & Performance management.

Demonstrated experience in the development of solutions to support the operation ideally within a Distribution/ Supply chain environment with exposure to Trade Unions.

Knowledge of Employment Law and ER process management including, negotiation skills, letter writing, tribunal management

Ability to identify training needs and develop a plan to address

IT skillset to include, Office 365.
