Birmingham, United Kingdom Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust Full time

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to join our clerical team, within the Cardiology Diagnostics Service. The clerical team provides support to the clinical staff by working at the busy reception desks, booking and changing appointments, helping with the pacemaker clinics, and carrying out a variety of other clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, typing, database entry, and dispatching results.

Working closely with the clerical manager, you will be one of 3 clerical supervisors. In your role you will be required to help co-ordinate the clerical work in the department, as well as to supervise and provide training for junior members of the team. Your main role however, will be to oversee all areas of the cardiac rhythm management administration. In addition, you will also need to be able to do audits and provide reports.

This is a full time, band 3 position and the successful applicant will work cross site at both City and Sandwell hospitals and will also be expected to work at the new Midland Metropolitan University Hospital, which is due to be opened in 2024.
- To provide a full and comprehensive clerical and administrative service to the Cardiology Diagnostics Department, including taking responsibility for coordinating the daily tasks for the clerical team.
- To be responsible for the administration requirements of the Cardiac Rhythm Management service within the department.
- Production / validation of figures and statistics for the department and Trust management teams, to ensure that the service performance can be monitored closely.
- Booking and co-ordination of patient appointments, to include assisting with the management of waiting lists.
- To order and monitor the department stationery stock levels.

With a department in both City and Sandwell hospital sites, we currently work cross site. This is an exciting time to join our team, as we will soon be expanding to three sites when our new hospital, Midlands Metropolitan University Hospital opens.

Our department is IQIPS and BSE accredited. We perform Echocardiograms including transthoracic, stress echo, contrast, bubble and transoesophageal, as well as physiologist services in these areas. We also provide a complex Cardiac Rhythm Management service which includes implant and follow up and a physiologist led loop recorder implantation service.

Providing a high quality service for our patients and a work environment for staff where all members feel valued, is very important to us. You will be allocated a mentor to ensure that you settle in well when you first join our team and to ensure that you remain feeling well supported beyond that.
