**Role purpose**

To support the team of specialist housing caseworkers and provide housing advice and maintain a housing advice caseload.

**Principal tasks and responsibilities**
- Project support
- Coordinate the gathering of data to meet project reporting requirements.
- Undertake surveys to return client information to meet project requirements.
- Monitor outcomes against evaluation plan criteria to meet project requirements.
- Make referrals to LLC according to eligibility criteria to provide an escalation route for clients most in need.
- Manage client referrals from LLC of eligible clients.
- Signposting clients to other agencies, where the Lewisham Law Service cannot assist.

**Person Specification - Essential**

1. Generalist certification or equivalent

2. Experience of working in an office environment and willingness to undertake relevant tasks.

3. Interest and commitment to training as housing adviser where needed.

4. Ability to work under close supervision and recognise when to seek support.

5. Good communication skills. Ability to communicate with clients, professionals and organisations.

6. A non-judgmental approach.

7. Ability to deal with clients in a professional manner and manage stressful situations appropriately.

8. Commitment to the aims of CAL and their client group - many of whom are now on low income and from a variety of ethnic backgrounds.

9. Understanding of the importance of maintaining client confidentiality and willingness to sign confidentiality agreement.
