Our client, a not for profit organisation is looking to recruit an experienced Part-Time HR Officer (30 hours) for a hybrid role to join their HR team located in the centre of Birmingham. The role reports into the Head of People and culture. The purpose ofthe role is to provide a pro-active support and advice service on a full range of HR issues to ensure that staff are engaged, committed and equipped with the skills to enable the organisation to achieve its aims and objectives.
**Role Responsibilities**
- To be the first point of contact for queries coming into the HR department.
- To ensure the implementation of robust HR administration procedures
- Continually look to drive improvements to HR processes and procedures in accordance with organisation's needs
- To ensure accuracy of information when inputting onto the People HR system.
- To be responsible for collating, recording and reporting of HR data, including absence and EDI data.
- To support managers and staff by advising on matters of employment law, best employment practice and the interpretation of terms, conditions, HR policies and procedures.
- To advise on and administer job descriptions and person specifications in liaison with line managers, offering advice and practical assistance, when necessary.
- To be responsible for the production of job adverts, both internal and external, as well as placing adverts, taking into consideration recruitment budgets, when necessary.
- To provide a HR induction of new staff, when necessary.
- To ensure that exit procedures are followed and exit interviews are carried out for all departing staff.
- To deputise for Head of People and Culture where appropriate.
**Person Specification**
- Previous HR generalist experience
- Experience of using HR software
- Ability to work on own initiative with mínimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing at all levels.
- Skilled at handling complex employee relation issues and communicating complex and sensitive information.
- Excellent organisational skills with a proven ability to manage challenging and competing demands, act under pressure and prioritise effectively.
The hours are 30 per week with flexible start and finish times. You would be required to visit the office 1 or 2 times per week. In return you would receive a salary of between £28,000 - £29,909 FTE. The pro rated salary for 30 hours is £25,636
