Senior Clinical Fellow in Trauma and Orthopaedics is required to commence from 07 August 2024 to work alongside 16 existing SPRs who support the Trauma and Orthopaedic Directorate.

The University Hospital of Wales is a busy trauma centre and provides tertiary referral service for spinal trauma, pelvic and acetabular trauma and complex limb trauma. The Elective service is based at Llandough Hospital and is one of the busiest orthopaedic centres in the UK with over 10,000 orthopaedic operations performed in the last financial year.

This post is not recognised for training by the Royal College of Surgeons.

We are a teaching health board with close links to Cardiff University. The University boasts a high profile teaching, research and development role within the UK and abroad. Together we are training the next generation of medical professionals.

This post is particularly suitable for Post FRCS (Orth) trainees interested in gaining focussed training in Trauma and Orthopaedics. Independent Operating sessions will be available along with supervised sessions with 16 Consultant Surgeons taking part in Trauma service.
