Job Purpose
- Investigate and assess the needs of homeless and other housing applicants.
- Determine priorities and allocate properties.
- Offer advice and assistance on housing options and ensure Council policies
and procedures are followed in the allocations and assessment process.
- Delivery of an effective and appropriate service to all service users, fairly and
without discrimination.
Main
**Responsibilities**:
1.
accordance with legislation and case law; undertake necessary
final decisions.
2. Provide advice and assistance on housing options and work with applicants
to prevent them from becoming homeless
3. Assess and process Housing Register/Transfer Applications in
accordance with legislation and council policy.
4. Deal with enquiries from housing applicants; conduct interviews in the
office, at the person’s home or on site.
5. Assist in the allocation of Council properties as required.
6. Allocate temporary accommodation and oversee management
procedures including the payment of charges.
7. Ensure that satisfactory conditions are maintained in temporary
accommodation used by the Council.
