**JOB DESCRIPTION**

Job Title: NEST Community Response Project Worker Fixed term contract to 30 April 2025 _(Possible extension depending on securing further funding)_

**Location**:New Heights Warren Farm Community Project

Kingstanding, Birmingham.

**Salary**: £12.82PH TERM TIME ONLY 39 weeks per year + 5.8 weeks holiday allowance

Hours: 24 hours per week Monday - Thursday

**Responsible to**:NEST Service Manager

Accountable to: New Heights Warren Farm Community Project Trustee Board

**Background**:
The NEST Project is part of New Height’s portfolio of projects, aimed at tackling local deprivation and encourage positive lifestyle changes. Based at New Heights community café in the heart of Kingstanding, the NEST project will provide domestic abuse counselling and welfare support to enable our community to flourish.

**Job Purpose**:
To provide a wide range of wellbeing and welfare related support, information and advice to a variety of community members, partner agencies and professionals.

**Key responsibilities**:
1. To collate referrals for clients and complete initial assessment of needs

2. To work alongside the team to provide support in accessing recovery focused support services (such as mental health, addiction support, family support)

3. In partnership with other local projects work together to meet community needs, signposting etc

4. Acting as a liaison between community agencies, service providers and residents

5. To promote positive, healthy lifestyle choices through information sharing

7. To work in conjunction with New Heights Volunteer Coordinator to recruit and support volunteers

8. To maintain accurate client records and service data monitoring information on a weekly basis

9. To ensure monitoring and evaluation information is collated to evidence project achievement

10. To promote and represent New Heights and the NEST project at partner agency meetings and forums

11. To attend supervisions, team meetings, training and staff development days

12. To ensure Safeguarding principles are at the heart of the service and are dealt with in-line with the New Heights and Local Authority safeguarding processes

13. To implement and adhere to New Heights Policies and Procedures at all times

14. To carry out any other reasonable management requests to support the charity
- **Note**:_The NEST project operates term time only, therefore all staff are required to use annual leave allowance during none operational weeks. Leave during operating weeks will only be granted in exceptional circumstances. _
- **Due to the nature or the role, a satisfactory enhanced DBS will be required (costs will be covered by New Heights Warren Farm Community Project).**_
