Head of IT Security

One of the UK’s most inspiring and best-known faith-based organisations is seeking a talented individual, with experience as a **Head of IT Security or Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).**
The Salvation Army is both a Church and a Charity, putting our faith into action by offering practical help for people without discrimination, standing up for those who are vulnerable and fighting against injustice. The IT Department supports the wide variety of services provided by the organisation, many requiring different approaches and solutions.
The role of **Head of IT Security** is a new and exciting senior role within the IT department, reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer. Within this role you will;
- Require strong leadership skills, as you will recruit, build, guide and inspire a new security team. This is a real opportunity to shape the organisations security function.
- Be responsible for protecting all the information assets by defining the vision and setting and implementing the strategy for IT risk management, information security and cyber security.
- Have a understanding on how to keep abreast of any current and emerging cyber security threats is a critical part of the role.
- Need to have expert knowledge of cyber security frameworks and best practices, for example ISO27001 and NIST
- Have good communication and collaboration skills are a must as a cyber-savvy workforce needs to be established and senior management need to be understanding of security threats.
The IT department of 45, support 7000 users across 900 locations, comprising of a comprehensive IT infrastructure delivering several line-of-business systems which reach out to all staff. As **Head of IT Security** you will get an opportunity to develop your career by working on innovative projects, within a fantastic team where individual and team effort is recognised.
This year we will be moving to a new, modern Territorial Headquarters at Denmark Hill, London, SE5 8BQ. This exciting new building will provide a more effective workplace to help The Salvation Army better achieve its mission.
