Data Quality Assistant

The Data Quality Assistant will work as member of the Data Quality Team that reports into the Head of Information and Performance.
The postholder will be required to support the work of the Data Quality Team in promoting awareness of Data Quality across the Trust and facilitating continuous improvement in the quality of data in order to provide the best quality information to the organisation and its partners.
To carry out audits and validations of key data items working within standard operating procedures and best practice in order to identify opportunities to promote and improve Data Quality and to contribute to the development and delivery of Data Quality awareness and training programmes.
This role will require the formation of strong effective working relations with relevant staff, along with colleagues in service development and service improvement
- Work as a member of the Data Quality Team, providing advice and expertise to assist in improving healthcare by contributing to the improvement of data entered onto the trusts Electronic Patient Record (EPR).
- Offer advice on Patient demographics using national and local guidance whilst also maintaining the integrity of the EPR Master Patient Index (MPI) and national spine
- Contribute to the development of data quality awareness and training resources and programmes
- Monitor / resolve jobs logged on the Data Quality queue, ensuring accuracy and timely responses.
- Dealing with telephone and electronic enquires from external and internal sources as appropriate
- Amend incorrect data entered on the trusts EPR by other departments
- Ongoing monitoring where data quality issues are known.
- To understand 18 week referral to treatment (RTT) rules and other related service targets and use them to manage all elective pathways.
- To validate waiting lists and track patients progress, using the EPR+ system to agreed 18 week national rules and Access Policy.
- To ensure any concerns relating to treatment schedules and potential breaches are communicated to the relevant staff in order to be resolved.
- Use of advanced Cerner admin function to have a wide ranging area of expertise and fix complex data quality issues
The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust consists of a 600 bedded large District General Hospital, which provides its services on the Countess of Chester Health Park, and a 64 bedded Intermediate Care Service at Ellesmere Port Hospital.
The Trust provides services in all of the surgical and medical specialties common to a District General Hospital with some specialist services.
