Lancaster Medical School (LMS) is a flourishing, innovative and vibrant Division of the Faculty of Health and Medicine, whose guiding principle is to deliver excellence in medical training and health related research. Our highly ranked degree programmes in the areas of medicine and sports and exercise science involve the delivery of research-led teaching and learning to 500+ undergraduate students and a growing population of research and taught postgraduate students. We wish to appoint a Lecturer at Grade 8 level to join the medical sciences theme who is willing to contribute to medical education research in Lancaster Medical School, and will support recruitment and selection to undergraduate programmes as an Admissions Tutor.

We are looking for dynamic individuals to join us and become a part of the intellectual and collective life of the School. In return, we can offer you a friendly teaching and scholarship environment that strongly supports the individual needs of each employee and actively promotes a healthy work-life balance. The Faculty is committed to family-friendly and flexible working policies and has held a Silver Athena SWAN award since 2014 in recognition of its good employment practice undertaken to address gender equality in higher education and research. LMS is committed to ensuring our workforce is reflective of our diverse student population and is therefore committed to increasing representation of racially minoritised staff across all roles and at all levels.

The university’s campus is located on the outskirts of the historic market town of Lancaster, which is also easily accessible from major cities in the NW of England. The Lake District and other areas of stunning beauty are on the University’s doorstep. The University provides an environment that strongly supports the individual needs of each employee, whilst promoting the importance of wellbeing for all our colleagues. We have a range of support networks available for our employees, and more information on these can be found on the ‘Working at Lancaster’ information page.
