**Job summary**:
Defence Digital Commercial (DDCmrcl) is the core team responsible for delivering outstanding value for Defence across its exploitation of digital and information technologies.

We are responsible for a large portfolio of complex contracts worth £2bn a year, through more than 300 suppliers. We operate across five categories - Networks, Hardware and Services, Military Technology, Software and Hosting and Professional Services.

Professional services are launching the new DIPS framework which will require extensive Stakeholder and Contract Management activity, new to the team. Managing this new Crown Commercial Services (CCS) Framework (which has been co-designed by MOD and CCS and delivered by MOD) is a significant undertaking as it underpins the delivery of substantial benefits to Defence. These include savings of £120m over 4 years, and detailed MI to support the delivery of Defence Digital’s Strategic Workforce Plan.

This new team will be responsible for managing each of the 6 Lots under the framework and providing assistance to other MOD commercial teams in how to use the Framework effectively. This is critical to the ambition to drive greater consistency and performance across Defence’s Digital and ICT programs.

DIPS is a catalyst for change in how we procure digital and ICT support by leveraging our partner’s delivery expertise upstream in the value chain though co-development and design of activity. Developing trusted productive relationships between our DIPS partners and Defence stakeholders is critical to this ambition and the DIPS PS team will be the spearhead of this activity’

The positions are advertised at 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:
**Pre market engagement**

Providing support to Defence Digital project delivery teams to influence and inform the sourcing of new goods and services from 3rd parties

Supporting development of sourcing strategies in cooperation with internal stakeholders

Supporting Procurement processes in line with public sector regulations and using agreed tools and systems

**Sourcing**

Assist in the Selection of appropriate suppliers using relevant evaluation criteria and responsible for ensuring value for money for the duration of supplier engagement

Working within a team to negotiate favourable terms for pricing and contract terms that deliver immediate and ongoing financial and non-financial benefits

Supporting senior commercial officers in the negotiation of complex contracts

**Contract Management**

Ongoing proactive management of key supplier relationships

Effective management of full life cycle of the contracts including managing changes and ensuring ongoing value and service quality standards are delivered

Commercial risk identification.

**Change, Policy & SME Advice**

Supporting continuous improvement and change management

Providing advice on commercial policies and processes to other teams for e.g. delivery group

**Leading & Managing**

Potential line management responsibilities based on skill set and business requirement

Providing support and leadership to junior team members

Embed and promote Diversity & Inclusion as part of the DD Commercial team culture

This job role is suitable for hybrid working, which is an informal, non-contractual and voluntary arrangement, blending a balance of attendance in the workplace for a minimum of 2 days per week (the base location being MOD Corsham), and working from home.
