**About the Role**

We are looking for someone to ensure that all procurement processes comply with legal and regulatory requirements, and that all purchases are made in a timely and cost-effective manner. The Head of Procurement will oversee a small team who are based in the Preston Head Office.

This is a brand new role, and we are looking for someone who thrives in a busy environment and can make an impact with our procurement strategy.

**We are looking for someone who can**:

- Develop procurement strategies and policies that align with organisational goals and objectives
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities across all procurement activities, in line with objectives and KPIs
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring that all terms and conditions are favourable to the organisation
- Manage supplier relationships, including evaluating supplier performance and resolving any issues that arise to the relevant stakeholder
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including maintaining accurate records and ensuring that all procurement processes are transparent
- Monitor procurement budgets and expenditures, ensuring that all purchases are made within budget constraints. Escalate to relevant stakeholders to resolve issues
- Collaborate with other departments within the organisation to ensure that procurement activities support their needs and objectives
- Manage a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance and support as needed

**What you’ll bring to the role**:

- A track record of success in a similar role and demonstrable career progression
- Experience in a leadership role is preferred, including the ability to motivate and inspire a team, manage resources, and delegate tasks effectively
- Experience within our sector is desirable, not essential
- A solutions focussed way of working, with the ability to positively challenge our current processes and implement best practice
- The ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is essential
- The ability to build strong relationships with suppliers, stakeholders, and team members
- Strong analytical skills
