About the Job

SMD Group is a leading manufacturer of fabrics, seeking a skilled Merchandising and Procurement Specialist to join our team in Preston. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have strong analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

This role involves:

  • Compiling and delivering reports to customers
  • Building reports to generate efficiencies
  • Forecasting demand and placing rebuys
  • Managing stock levels and availability

You will be working closely with our Head of Customer Operations to ensure the efficient delivery of merchandise to our retail customers.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Knowledge of demand planning principles and inventory management principles
  • GCSE Maths and English Grade B or above
  • Ability to work on own initiative and manage own workload
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £31,000 - £36,000 per annum, depending on experience. Other benefits include 22 days holiday plus bank holidays, increased with length of service, pension scheme, childcare vouchers, company sick pay, and voluntary staff savings scheme.
