Purpose of the Job

Main

**Responsibilities**:
Main Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

- Make central decisions where possible for undergraduate and postgraduate (taught) applicants against defined criteria, followed by formal offers where possible, in an appropriate timescale.
- Work with Schools to assess eligibility for any referred undergraduate and postgraduate (taught) applicants, followed by formal offers as appropriate, in a timely manner.
- Ensure up-to-date expertise and knowledge on global education systems, providing all enquirers with accurate, up-to-date information and guidance on UK, EU and international qualifications.
- Represent the University at information events/conferences (eg UCAS / ECCTIS) as required, in a professional manner, to receive and disseminate sector developments and to develop external networks.
- Ensure that the University’s admissions system data is accurately updated.
- Analyse, report and present data and management information as required by interrogating admissions databases and systems.
- To participate in the ongoing testing and development of databases and systems (e.g. Banner upgrades, INTTRACK CAS Bulk Upload).
- Advise on appropriate entry requirements for new programmes and assist in managing and maintaining external data holders such as Bangor’s UCAS account.
- Engage with the annual Confirmation and Clearing activities and support university-wide events (eg Open Days, Registration and Graduation), as required.
- Assessing eligibility when required, preparing, processing and authorising CAS letters for International applicants.
- Working and developing good relationships with colleagues in academic Schools and Colleges and associated service departments (eg Recruitment, Marketing, Student Records, etc), to improve internal processes and communications.
- The role may require international travel on occasion to support engagement with Bangor’s Global operations. Undertake other duties commensurate with the nature of the role.

**Responsibilities**:

- The post holder will be expected to participate in performance review and developmental activities.

- Qualifications_

Essential
- Educated to A level standard / NVQ level IV or equivalent or relevant experience.

Desirable
- A degree in a relevant area or University experience.
- Experience/Knowledge_

Essential
- Experience of working within a busy office /administrative environment at a similar level in a customer-facing role.
- Experience working in compliance with confidential information and regulations and documented processes and procedures.

Desirable
- Experience of working within a Higher Education Institution (HEI) or Further Education (FE) environment or similar.
- Knowledge of general UK Home Office immigration expectations and compliance. Experience of developing and implementing administrative systems and procedures. Good working knowledge of HEI / FE Student Records / Information Management Systems (e.g. Banner).
