Enabler for Young Man at Newcastle University 4hrs

**Young man with high functioning autism in Newcastle area requires an enabler to support with 4hrs per week. Client is a full-time wheelchair user. Client will be attending Newcastle University from September so hours will need arranging flexibly around lectures but likely to be arranged in 2 calls between Mon and Thurs.
**Experience preferred of working with clients with autism.**
**Hours of work: 4hrs per week**
**Rates of Pay: £11.91 per hour**
**Location: Newcastle area**
**Main Duties**:
- Client will be living independently whilst attending University from September, it is expected that client will need support in settling into a routine away from home. University. Client is fulltime wheelchair user, so a lot of tasks are around practicalities.
- It is hoped the enabler will be able to support with planning a food diary for week ahead, create shopping list and agree with client which shops to go to, complete laundry and cleaning tasks, check dates on food and dispose of food if needed. Check correspondence and discuss with client and contact parents if unsure about anything. Provide reassurance to client and discuss how he is coping with the change of lifestyle and how he is physically/emotionally and raise any concerns to family if needed.
