That’s why we need a brilliant **Protection Pricing Lead **to help us get to where we’re going. You’ll bring bags of energy, know-how and passion to our family of door-opening brands, including British Gas and Hive. And you’ll join a team who are just as focused delivering on fantastic results as you are.

**Location**: With our Flexible First working arrangements we empower our colleagues to work in a way that best suits them - meaning location doesn’t need to be a barrier. This role can be mostly based at home with occasional meetings required at our Centrica sites.

In this role, you will be helping to drive British Gas Services and Solutions sustainable growth and profitability by developing customer/retail pricing on our Protection portfolio. You will be tasked with ensuring that BG Services and Solutions pricing activity is compliant with relevant regulatory and policy standards, including General Insurance Pricing Practices and Consumer Duty.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Development of pricing strategies to deliver sustainable growth & optimise profit, delivering value to the customer and business. In doing so, engage and influence key stakeholders in the development and delivery of customer pricing strategy.
- Development of excellent claims and behavioural models using a variety of techniques
- Use of data to drive understanding and value.
- Deploying a conduct-rich approach to customer pricing, including discretionary discounting, campaigns, acquisition and customer lifetime pricing strategy and optimisation.
- Support the development of new products and campaign strategies, including playing a role in relevant cross-functional strategic projects.
- Ensure that customer pricing is aligned to technical pricing strategies, the British Gas brand and market positioning strategies.

**Who are we looking for?**
- Excellent knowledge and experience of customer pricing with strong fundamentals of retail, price optimisation and insurance dynamics.
- Knowledge of SQL, R and/or Python.
- Radar, Emblem, Power BI knowledge would be desirable.
- Good knowledge and experience of the regulatory side of customer pricing (FCA) in terms of good conduct, strong governance and control processes and delivering good customer outcomes.
- Strong understanding of customer behaviour, technical pricing, market segmentation and marketing principles.
- Strong communication, written and verbal, with ability to vary style when communicating with data technicians, pricing experts and a wider business audience.
- A proven eye for detail with a strong understanding of the assumptions/judgements that underpin customer pricing decisions.
- Experience working in matrix organisations and of successfully influencing/engaging with senior leaders.
