**The vacancy**

**Objective**:
To provide written and telephone advice to veterinary surgeons, veterinary nurses and members of the public; to assist the Standards and Advice Team in supporting for the Standards Committee and it’s Subcommittees.

**Responsibilities**:
**Standards Committee**

Support the work of the Standards Committee and it’s Subcommittees, which may include preparing agendas, arranging meetings, writing minutes and drafting papers.

Support the work of the RCVS Ethics Review Panel, which may include drafting letters, arranging and attending meetings, and day-to-day management of the Panel’s work.

Provide support to the Standards and Advice Team, including projects and working parties reporting to the Standards Committee.

Undertake other duties within the department and College, as requested by the Standards and Advisory Lead or the Head of Legal Services (Standards).

**Development of best practice**

Assist the Standards and Advisory Lead with projects relating to the development of protocols, including manuals, guidance and practice directions.

Assist the Standards and Advisory Lead with analysis of advice files, where required.

Assist the Standards and Advisory Lead with in-house training for the Professional Conduct Department staff, where required.

**Skills/qualifications**:
Degree level entry - a legal qualification or experience of professional conduct issues would be desirable.

Ability to understand complex problems and think through solutions or theories.

A customer-focused approach, dealing with people in a compassionate, just and fair manner.

Clear, concise, logical and practical approach to issues.

Strong organisational and administrative skills.

Excellent writing and drafting skills.

Excellent IT skills.

Excellent telephone manner.

Ability to work as part of a team.

**First interviews will be held online on Monday 3rd April 2023**

**2nd Interviews will be held in person on Wednesday 5th April 2023**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £37,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
