**Role responsibilities**

We are currently recruiting for an **Operational Planning Assistant** to join our Planning and Performance team on a permanent basis.

The Operational Planning Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative and logistics support to the Operational Planning team, and wider Performance & Planning directorate.

You will Act as first ‘point of contact’ for any enquiries, requests, or business opportunities. As well as managing the departments day to day administrative activities.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

- Managing room bookings / stationery orders / department mailboxes
- Produce / distribute departmental paperwork
- Financial reconciliation activities, including purchase orders, requisitions, and invoice validation
- Produce and manage project support materials such as action trackers, risk registers, meeting minutes / notes, and briefing documents
- Maintain a robust and accurate filing system (both electronic and physical) to manage archive and reference material
- Maintain a positive working relationship with key stakeholders (internal & external), always representing the interests of Transport for Wales in a positive and professional manner
- Support the Head of Operational Planning in the business and commercial development of the department

**_Essential requirements to be considered for this role: _**
- Must be fully conversant with Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
- Attention to detail and organisation skills are essential
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in writing professional material, with appropriate language and presentation

**Welsh Language Skills**
