Julie Rose Recruitment are looking for a Finance Manager to assist in the overseeing of the finance system and work closely with the finance teams of a local academy trust and help to resolve problems.

**Duties for the Finance Manager**:

- To provide support to the CFO, School Business Managers and Finance officers of all the
- academies with information to help with the preparation of their budgets and the uploading of budgets into the accounting system.
- To provide budget holders, school business managers and finance officers with daily and
- monthly support with all day to day operational activities.
- To run the monthly finance monitoring reports (as appropriate) for the Headteachers, CFO and AACs as required.
- To be responsible for the maintenance and monitoring of the Trust’s finance system, generating upgrades and advising CFO and central finance team accordingly.
- To provide training to the Trust’s finance teams and any other relevant parties on finance
- systems, legislation and financial updates.
- To assist the Trust accountant and CFO with the year end audit, returns and any relevant
- financial matters.
- To advise all school business officers, finance officers and budget holders on all matters
- pertaining to the academies’ financial handbook, providing advice and guidance.
- To maintain and oversee all bank accounts and reporting banking errors to the CFO.
- To reconcile bank accounts and update all cash flows on a monthly basis.
- To input all the necessary monthly/daily journals in respect of the cashbooks and payroll.
- Complete VAT accounting and payments and ensure that VAT reclaim returns are submitted as required.
- To line manage and oversee the development of the central finance assistants.
- To oversee the processing and payment of school invoices, following up their prompt payment.
- To oversee the web based purchased order system and ensure that the purchase order process is being strictly adhered to.
- To ensure ordering of goods and supplies and approval of invoices for payment within agreed regulations and to monitor the quality of purchase order/invoice code allocations.
- To ensure that all administrative duties, checks, documentation, reports and returns (internal and external) are completed accurately and submitted within required deadlines.
- To collate information, statistics and prepare reports as required by Line Manager.
- To ensure compliance with data protection regulations.

**Specification for the Finance Manager**:

- Part qualified with one of the following accounting bodies, ACCA, CIMA or ACA or fully qualified AAT or through experience.
- Either: Degree, VQ4, higher or equivalent, or postgraduate/professional qualification with relevant training, plus typically 3+ years practical experience in a similar or related role.
- Or: Higher degree, plus typically 2 years practical experience in a similar or related role.
- Or: Evidence of progression and development gained through 7-10 years relevant work experience.
- An enhanced DBS check.
