This is a strategic senior leadership role within the business, responsible for creating a central performance management capability, delivering a programme to further develop our asset management maturity (AMM) and deliver a leading data and insight service to the directorate and wider business.

**This role will be responsible for**:

- Leading the performance management transformation programme for Affinity Water. Developing and implementing a new performance management framework, governance, culture, data quality and organisational design for effective performance management.
- Assessing the current analyst capability across the business and identifying options for the future performance management team.
- Providing highly automated performance reporting that can be analysed at all levels of the business
- Providing performance insights with recommended actions to drive improvements in business performance.

Affinity Water has invested heavily in some leading data and information capabilities including data science, analytics, network modelling and GIS. This role will be responsible for the management, exploitation and development of these capabilities and the delivery of related services to the asset strategy teams and wider business.
- Delivery of a network modelling service for the business in support of periodic review activities, strategic projects, outage planning and resilience for operational incidents.
- Proactive identification of insights from our data to support our asset management processes and our PR24 regulatory business case development and implementation.
- Ownership of our asset data systems and management processes including proactively leading the improvement of asset data quality and completeness. Specifically accountable for the capture and maintenance of our underground asset data.
- Provision of mapping services to internal and external stakeholders, development of a GIS change roadmap and updating business processes to support with changes such as the integration of our underground data in the national underground asset register.
- Provide complete, accurate, reliable and timely asset data including the delivery of the Annual Performance Report for the areas owned by the Asset Strategy and Capital Delivery team. Deliver a strategy to improve data completeness and accuracy.
- Develop and maintain business processes to ensure compliance with the Asset information strategy, including management of the asset information centre and process document control.
- Delivery of asset condition assessment services for the business including management of the asset condition lab undertaking pipe samples, borehole surveys, transient analysis, and other condition surveys.

Affinity Water is continuing to develop its asset management maturity, data and information capabilities and associated business processes. Driving effective insight and actions to support delivery of our performance commitments. To do this we cannot stand still, we have to continually improve and transform.

This role is responsible for setting the direction, developing delivery programmes, and leading implementation of change, including:

- Drive a transformation programme to develop our asset management maturity across the 39 areas identified by ISO 55000 as being key to successful asset management. The aim of the programme is to reach the “level 3 - Competent” rating as identified by ISO 55000 for each of the 39 areas.
- Lead development of a programme of work for enhancement of our asset information including the asset hierarchy, associated maintenance activities and work management to support the effective delivery of the business wide maintenance strategy review.
- Oversee the optimisation of the risk and value and value engineering processes and move to a multi capitals approach to include wider value streams in the analysis.
- Identify and implement commercial opportunities from asset condition assessment and insight activities delivered by the team.
- Work with business SMEs, the Technology team, and others across the industry to support in developing a roadmap for open data.

Provide leadership to the Transformation and Insight teams, across the wider Affinity Water business and industry more generally.
- Provide clear and visible leadership to direct Transformation and Insight, employing good practice in the management of behaviours and performance.
- Lead the implementation of talent management approaches including succession planning, leadership and skills development, and a strategy for talent acquisition and retention.
- Work with stakeholder groups across the water industry and beyond to identify best practice and opportunities to learn from others. Represent Affinity Water at appropriate industry groups. Present at industry forums and conferences to promote Affinity Water.
- Carry out any other duties which are within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.
