This is an exciting opportunity to take a lead role in the transformation and development of maternity, neonatal and women’s health services across Kent and Medway, working in a dynamic and supportive team within the Integrated Care Board. The role will act as deputy to the director of maternity, neonatal and women’s health services, with strategic leadership of a diverse portfolio of work including the commissioning of a range of services and pathways, oversight of the safety and quality services and implementation of a transformation programme including workstreams focussed on workforce and education, addressing inequality of outcomes and improving digital technology. The role requires close partnership working with a wide range of stakeholders across multiple organisations including senior clinical and strategic leaders, with a strong focus on consistently hearing the voices of women and families across local communities to co-design and coproduce solutions to continually improve the quality of services for better outcomes and experience

Lead on the delivery of the Kent and Medway LMNS plan incorporating the key deliverables of the Three-year Delivery Plan for Maternity and Neonatal Services and other guidance, ensuring that transformation priorities are embedded into services, and monitored to ensure sustained improvement.

Oversee the quality assurance processes including the sustained implementation of the Perinatal Quality Surveillance Model and the delivery of LMNS/ICB responsibilities for oversight of national improvement schemes for maternity providers.

Oversee the processes related to operational pressures escalations in collaboration with the ICB Operational Command Centre.

Support improvements to the culture of services by ensuring that coproduction and listening to the voices of women and families from across our communities are embedded into all aspects of service improvement and delivery.

Take a lead role in the commissioning of the team’s women’s health services portfolio, offering leadership and oversight for commissioning, procurement and contract management and influencing system wide planning and commissioning arrangements for women’s health services.

Lead, manage and motivate by providing appropriate and compassionate leadership and direction to the team ensuring their continued professional development.
