About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Maternity Support Worker to join our team at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. This exciting opportunity will enable you to make a significant contribution to delivering exceptional patient care in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Job Overview

This role involves working closely with our experienced Midwives to provide high-quality intrapartum and postnatal care to women and their families. As a Maternity Support Worker, you will play a vital part in ensuring that our patients receive safe and personalized care. With your excellent communication skills and ability to empathize with patients and their families, you will be able to build strong relationships and provide emotional support when needed.

Main Responsibilities
  • To work collaboratively with Midwives and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality maternity care.
  • To assist in preparing the birth centre for deliveries, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a clean and comfortable environment.
  • To provide emotional support and reassurance to women and their families during labor and after childbirth.
  • To maintain accurate records and contribute to the smooth running of the birth centre.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • NVQ/Diploma level 3 in Healthcare or an equivalent qualification.
  • Good general education and basic numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Previous experience in a maternity setting is desirable but not essential.
