As a Paediatric Matron for Emergency Department you will be accountable for coordinating safe, high quality care to improve the experience for children, young people and their families for both sites. You will provide senior clinical and professional nursing leadership within the Emergency Medicine Directorate, acting as a positive role model through the provision of effective professional leadership and the demonstration of competent, accountable clinical practice. This role is integral to planning future developments to ensure the highest quality of patient centred care is delivered by an appropriately skilled workforce.

This is a key leadership role within the trust operating as part of the senior nursing leadership within Medicine and Emergency Care Division. The post holder will work closely with the Matrons for Emergency Medicine on both sites, Clinical Director and the General Manager to support both the Directorate services and Trust wide services where children and young people are seen. This role supports the Head of Nursing for Paediatrics and Neonates and Head of Nursing for Emergency Medicine to deliver the best outcomes for children and young people across the Trust.

You will join a dedicated team of experienced and motivated Paediatric nurses, PEM consultant and a Paediatric consultants available at peak times. The post holder also has clinical, teaching, managerial, and staff development responsibilities. This post is a cross site cover.
