Residential Childcare Worker

DegreeSix is a specialist agency, working solely with Residential & Supported Living services for Young People [aged 6 - 18] in some of the top private Social Care providers in the Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire area.
This position is a 0 hour contract support worker role, which offers flexibility to pick and choose between a mixture of shift patterns and companies to work with. [unfortunately we do not offer guaranteed work as it is a bank agency role].
We are looking for caring support workers that have the knowledge, compassion, patience and understanding to support children and young people from varying backgrounds and different needs.
** What do you need to join DegreeSix? **
- Required - 3 months minimum of UK-based Social Care experience with Children in Residential homes or 6 Months minimum working with Adults in care.
- Required - UK Driving Licence with access to own vehicle
- Preferable - Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Online update service (New required, if not registered Online)
** Young People’s Support Needs? **
- Emotional and Challenging Behaviours (EBD)
- Learning Disabilities (LD) & Autism
- Mental Health (MH) including Self harming & Suicide risk among others
** What does the role include? **
- Keeping on top of domestic tasks to ensure a safe, clean and positive living environment
- Following care plans and ensuring correct safeguarding practices
- Engaging with both staff and young people on shift through fun and educational activities to develop their interests and hobbies
- Promoting independence and emotional support
